“Lost Without Him” relives a story of love, faith and a relationship that stands the test of time. In the summer of 1967, two teenagers from opposite kinds of upbringing, met in Columbia City, Indiana. She was 16 and he was 17. The book follows their journey as they fell in love and survived heartache and loss but went from poverty to affluence while keeping their ethics and integrity intact.
“Our journey was not without struggles. There was a time when we nearly divorced but, did not,” Scutt says. “This is an inspirational story for everyone whom desires a true, loving relationship with both God and their spouse. It will remind them that God will always be faithful.”
An excerpt from the book:
It was so emotional and heartbreaking for me. The reality of seeing his name carved in stone nearly broke me. I knew he was not there, and I was so grateful to God for that. Yet, knowing that the body of the man I loved more than life was there hit me like a ton of bricks.
I printed and laminated a sign that I taped under my name, which read: “With Paul to His Grave Went My Heart.”
