A new book on Adult ADHD written by Massachusetts author and entrepreneur David A Greenwood explores how entrepreneurs and other highly successful individuals in business not only manage their Adult ADHD but thrive with it. The book includes many strategies for living a fulfilling life with Adult ADHD including real life examples.
Overcoming Distractions, Thriving with Adult ADD/ADHD, available now, profiles many Adults with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The book focuses on the positives of having Adult ADHD including creativity, the ability to generate new ideas for business, the desire to be successful and the resourceful thinking they bring to business. The book also takes a look at their lives growing up with ADHD, struggles they faced in a traditional learning environment and how they got their inspiration to be successful in business.
The book is available at Barnes & Noble both instore and online, and on Amazon. A link to the book can be found on the Author's website at http://www.DavidAGreenwood.com
Most importantly, the book lays out a street smart approach to managing and thriving with Adult ADHD coming straight from those successful entrepreneurs, others in the business world as well as highly-respected professionals in the ADHD community. The advice comes from ADHD doctors and therapists but also equally important, ADHD Coaches.
Overcoming Distractions published by Sterling Publishing, Inc. is written to guide those with Adult ADHD and their families with a holistic approach to managing Adult ADHD. Those tactics include exercise, adequate sleep, mindfulness techniques, self-awareness, having a proper support system as well as easy to follow methods of staying organized and on task through the day.
Many of those profiled in the book had a common thread. Many struggled in school early on, had challenges focusing on certain tasks and had trouble progressing through a traditional learning atmosphere. However, common themes as adults included a deep desire to be successful, finding a career that they could be passionate about and enhanced creativity including the constant generation of new business ideas.
"I wrote Overcoming Distractions for two important reasons," says author David A Greenwood. "The first is to give those adults with ADHD the necessary tools they need to live a productive and fulfilling life. The other reason was to show the world that ADHD is not a curse. Many adults with ADHD have contributed immensely to the business world with their unique style of thinking, so it's my hope this book inspires others with Adult ADHD to create a rewarding life for themselves."
