Author and health care case manager Pauline Sanders focuses on helping health care professionals meet the new challenges of the upcoming 2014 health care reform in her insightful new guidebook, "Along the Continuum of Care: What Every Case Manager Must Know..." (published by AuthorHouse).

In under 100 pages, Sanders presents a wealth of information in a brief, to-the-point format. She stresses the critical role that case management and care coordination play in the ever-changing realm of health care and suggests effective management solutions. The book also discusses the new health care reform's financial impact and explains how health care costs can be reduced as the nation moves into the full implementation of health care reform on Jan. 1, 2014.

"I firmly believe as health care workers become trained on the basics of case management and as they grow with changes in the industry, they will move into the number one position as the most important person on the health care team," Sanders writes. "They will ensure that the circle of needs is connected throughout the continuum of care. The never-ending cycle of case management will result in a win-win outcome for health care organizations as well as for patients."
