Australia

While droving cattle in Western Queensland it was common for hawks to gather insects that were startled out of the grass. Often crows would try to emulate these hawks and it was rather funny to see how bad they were. Author Ken Dean wrote "The Misadventures of Bartholomew Crow" as a means to give others an idea of this interesting event. He also believes that the book can be a very good way to teach young children to read, and have a giggle at the same time.

Bartholomew Crow is hungry. On a nearby site he sees some hawks catching their breakfast. He felt envious and realised that if the hawks can do it, maybe he can as well. He gathers himself up and begins to look for prey. A Grasshopper is the ultimate meal for a hungry crow. He tries to catch one but it is far too quick. Feeling tired and hungry he must find a way to catch one so he can have his breakfast and to prove to the hawks that he can also catch grasshoppers. Will he be able to do it? Find out what happens next as this colourful volume uncovers its ending.

Exciting, filled with life lessons and adventure, "THE MISADVENTURES OF BARTHOLOMEW CROW" will teach children and children at heart the value of patience, humility and self- confidence.
