New Book Focuses on Repetitive Flaws of Famous War Battles throughout... Image Inspired by the frustrations of past veterans and the author's own admiration of famous military battles, the late author Max Horlick has shared insightful and colorful tales of battles, leaders and military decisions in his new book, "SNAFU".

The book describes in colorful detail on 10 unexpected but influential historical military disasters, dating from a famous battle between the Greeks and Persians in 480 BCE to the Battle of the Bulge during World War II.

"I was personally involved in WWII, which was marked by constant challenges and constant mistakes," Horlick said of his military experience. "Later, I read about all the other episodes that I covered in the book and became interested in situations where great preparedness by dominating forces succumbed to unpredictable elements. Many of which were notable and critical battles."

An Archway reviewer said about the book, "'SNAFU' is eye-opening and informative. Max Horlick presents a refreshing, unfiltered view of famous battles from both US and world history. Each short chapter reads like an O'Henry tale… except that they are true! I learned fascinating historical facts while caught up in the battles. As a military veteran myself, I gleaned practical lessons learned, while enjoying a terrific read!"

"SNAFU: Unexpected Military Disasters in History" is a book that historical military enthusiasts and veterans alike will find enjoy learning about how military mistakes of our past impacted the future.
