In order to truly succeed in life, one must be both courageous in taking risks, and have the fortitude to see things through to the end. In "Faith and Fate", author Emily Thorne has written a truly inspiring read that follows one girl's amazing journey to find her real parents.

"Faith and Fate" follows young Lucy, a competitive mixed-race girl left for adoption in an Eastern European orphanage. As being the only colored child, she faces discrimination and abuse, which leads her to dream of escaping the orphanage and finding her real parents, no matter the cost. She is determined that the day will come and in the meantime, she refuses to be adopted by anybody. She is stubborn, but with great heart. One day, she gets the chance and escapes the orphanage and goes to the capital city, where a future meeting with her mother will shape her destiny. There she learns the truth about her father, but will anyone believe her? She has got nothing to lose, but fight to prove that the former President of State is truly her father.

This engrossing read is based on the author's own experiences growing up. "Faith and Fate" shows readers that with courage and faith one can do anything.
