The ultimate sacrifice. Carson George's son gave his life serving the Marines in Afghanistan whilst advancing the cause for freedom. Himself a Vietnam War veteran, this loss called for much reflection. "FOREVER 22" (published by Xlibris) is his way of celebrating his son's life and legacy as well as relate his own personal journey as opened himself to God.
An excerpt from the book's back cover description reads: "Walk with me through all of the good and then into the valley of the shadow of death. Walk with me out of that valley into the light by the grace of God." This is George's invitation to readers to accompany him in his journey; an inspirational walk that encourages preparation of a faith foundation now. A walk through that dark lonesome valley standing on the solid foundation of faith built before the storm. A foundation of faith that holds steadfast as it helps the faithful with their needs even beyond the valley.
In "FOREVER 22", George shares his journey of allowing God to connect the necessary dots of his life to bring him to the point he needed to be at the time his son gave his life fighting terrorism in Afghanistan. Readers are taken down the memory road, back in time to that particular point in his life that would lead him to work in Iraq. Having walked the darkness himself, he gives a story of hope and in that hope, strength.
"My prayer is that the reader can feel the walk with me through each chapter," says George. "FOREVER 22" is a down-to-earth book expressing his heartfelt sentiment of wanting to give people hope, inspiration for their own foundation building and a sense that they are not walking this walk alone, because God will always be with them.
