"I wrote this book because of my own struggles in trying to find out what a real man is and felt the need to share those struggles, triumphs and insights with men of my generation as well as up and coming young men," explains author William A. McLean on his reasons for writing his new book, "What Is A Real Man?" (published by AuthorHouse).

Over the years, McLean struggled to understand what it meant to be a real man. Like many young people, he thought he would find the answer by entering the military; however, upon entering the Armed Forces, he discovered droves of men and women asking the same question. In the many conversations that took place between McLean and other service members, he was surprised to find a common thread standing at the center of many troubled and skewed perceptions about adulthood and manhood.

Each person McLean spoke to had expressed, at some point, the matter of having a damaged or disconnected relationship with their father. Understanding their needs along with his own firsthand experiences, he sat down to transcribe his findings and insights in hope of helping readers find a new understanding and new directive for their lives.

"The book will appeal to readers because of the topic it addresses," McLean says. "The topic of manhood is a fascinating subject to men and women. Women want to know what to look for in a good man and men want to know how to become a good man. The topic of manhood cuts across sexes and races."

"What Is A Real Man?" reveals from the Scriptures what a real man is and the spiritual principles that apply when a man takes his place. In addition, it discusses how manhood affects God's original order.
