According to the author, the book is unique in the following senses: first, it provides three different, but equivalent definitions of entropy; second, it provides a simple, valid and proven interpretation of entropy, and the second law of thermodynamics based on Shannon’s Measure of Information; and third, he considers that it is the only book that proves that entropy is not a function of time. Moreover, the book also shows that Rudolf Clausius, German physicist and mathematician, had overgeneralized when he formulated the second law, and that Ludwig Boltzmann, Austrian physicist and philosopher, misinterpreted his own H-Theorem.
“[The book] sends a clear cut message about the exact definition of Entropy and its properties,” says the author. “This message is in sharp contrast to those perpetrated in the literatures.”
