Neale Payne releases 'Willie Wish and the Magic Realm' ImageNeale Payne believes children today are no longer using their imagination because of the advancement in technology. This belief encouraged him to write "Willie Wish and the Magic Realm" (published by Xlibris AU) to inspire children to use their imagination all over again. It is about how a boy makes a difference by helping those who need help.

The book tells the story of Willie Wish, a special boy who is granted a gift from the fairies. This is a gift to see and hear those of the magic realm and animals. Willie has many adventures helping those of the magic realm and animals overcome some very unusual problems.

"This is a realistic story, yet it allows the imagination of readers to be held," Payne says. "It speaks about the protection of the environment and the animals that live in this world as well as respect and acceptance of different cultures."

An excerpt from the book reads:

Evan sat down on a log in front of the light. Out of the glow, a very small bright light appeared then changed into . . . it couldn't be. He rubbed his eyes and looked again. lt was a fairy just like in the stories his dad had told.

Willie was stunned. Right there, hovering in front of his dad, was a tiny flying person. His dad held out his big hand; the fairy landed on his palm. Willie could see his dad and the fairy talking, but he could not hear what they were saying. He just lay there, transfixed on the tiny fairy.
