Expounding on the timeless witticism of Frederick Douglass, when he said "It is easier to build strong children than to repair broken men," author Natalie Wood releases a colorful alphabet book that intends to make children feel loved and important. "The Alphabet of Love" (published by AuthorHouse) integrates value formation with basic alphabet training. It also aims to promote bonding between parents/guardians and their children.

"This book is written from the heart, saying so much about how we, as adults, feel about children but sometimes don't verbalize enough," says Wood. "We need to tell children, no matter what age, that they are and always will be a very important part of our lives. The more we instill these positive attitudes, the more they will be able to have greater self-esteem and feel confident about themselves as a whole."

Lamenting on an age where heartfelt communication seems to be always on edge, she encourages parents and guardians to take advantage of the positive influence they have over their children. This motivational book, according to Wood, could be an effective material not only as an educational tool but as a means to reestablish connection between parent and child.

"The Alphabet of Love" takes the alphabet to a 'whole new dimension,' poem-based and inspirational for children of all ages. Below is an excerpt from the book:

"To all individuals - women, men and children - who have been abused, bullied and belittled, may you overcome these challenges. You are strong and deserve to be respected. Stand up for what you believe in. Do not allow anyone to take your self-respect, dignity, self-esteem, or spirit away from you. Remember, you are your own destiny."
