Nancy Bayne's new novel "Time Travel at Jagged Rock Lighthouse" (published by WestBow Press) is a time travel adventure.
When Paige visits a present-day lighthouse, she is whisked back in time to 1910 when the lighthouse was first built. She gets stuck in the past and must learn to live the 1910 way, with long skirts, washing laundry in Lake Superior and learn lighthouse keeping. She has many adventures and, at the end, she must decide if she wants to go home and time travel again or stay with the lighthouse family who loves her.
An excerpt from "Time Travel at Jagged Rock Lighthouse":
"'What's wrong?" asked the lighthouse keeper.
I looked up at him. 'All of the journal pages from the future are gone.'
'Is that bad?' he asked.
Monster hands of fear grabbed me.
'I think it means I'm trapped in 1910.'"
"The main character believes she doesn't have any gifts. She discovers she has a slew of talents," says Bayne. "Girls need to know they have many gifts."
