The Cuban Missile Crisis has always intrigued author Mike L. Van Natter. Since the Castro brothers are still alive, he gives them one last kick at the can in his novel "Deep Obsession." Combined with Van Natter's experiences, travels and eclectic thoughts, he developed interesting characters that would take over and form this historical adventure.

"Deep Obsession" talks about the desire to bring about America's demise and shift the balance of power. Through a series of seemingly unrelated events, the North American Bureau of Security has uncovered a joint Chinese-Cuban plot which threatens to destroy the lives of millions of North Americans and alter the balance of power with a pathogenic terror pre-set for release and concealed deep beneath the cold, dark waters of the Great Lakes.

Van Natter offers readers an action-packed read with a theme taken from the fading recent past, injected into the reality of modern current events, and dipped ever so slightly into the near future. He sets his book apart from others with the plethora of elements designed to appeal to a broad readership base.

With the interplay of terrorism, politics and history, the book offers something for everyone who enjoys a good rousing adventure with history and a few facts within the current global politics.

Van Natter hopes that readers of "Deep Obsession" will find great entertainment within its pages on several levels, and have an eager burning desire to find out what happens in each succeeding chapter.
