About "Collected Writings - Volume 1":
"Collected Writings" is an opening anthology of fifteen shorts written by new writer, Ian Riddle. A disparate collection of work, with stories ranging from just over one hundred to almost six thousand words and varied subject matter. There should be something for everyone inside.
The stories include:
It's All JJ's Fault, the opener, a story of one woman's attempt to "do something" with her life, make a statement, before it's too late.
Harald, The Last Viking Warrior, the story of a latter-day Mr Toad and A Fair Exchange, village gossip, are tales of humour.
The Lavender Field is a tragedy of Shakespearean proportion.
The Girl and the Looking Glass is a fictional biography of a singleton, a singleton by design though, rather than accident.
Tea at Raffles is a meeting with old minds.
There are stories of love lost, A Chance Encounter, love passed, The Citadel and a love that was little more than lust, Worlds Apart.
Harry's Tour is a true story, a short travelogue extolling the virtues of entrepreneurship.
There's also a literary piece about nothing, A Godot Moment, for which the reader will need to brush-up on their Beckett.
This work is available in multiple formats:

About the Author
Ian Riddle was born a long time ago now and like both Mary Wesley and Sir Christopher Bland took to writing rather late in life.
Following graduation from the University of East Anglia (UEA), which has subsequently become something of a literary mecca since his days there, Ian worked, briefly, as an Economist in London but soon moved to Cornwall, where, together with his wife, he ran his own business for many years. They lived in the small Cornish fishing village of Polperro which provided a rich source of material for his first novel, Midsummer Dreams, due to be published Spring 2019.
Ian began work on the novel in January 2017 and eight months later had a rough draft ready but feeling the need of a break from it put the manuscript to one side and thought to write just a couple of short stories. Twelve months and fifteen stories later it became clear that it was time to put this volume, Collected Writings to bed and return to where he left off, one year past, especially as he can already feel a second volume of shorts tugging at his sleeve.
After over forty years in Cornwall Ian crossed the River Tamar and moved back to England a short while ago, although only as far as Devon, where he still maintains a "day job." How much longer this will last, he is not sure. Writing can become a seductive and powerful mistress for which one can easily develop an all-consuming passion.
