"The Weary Pilgrim": an intimate look into the life of a church pastor and reflections on his own personal journey of faith. "The Weary Pilgrim" is the creation of published author Michael Soppeland, a Lutheran pastor of thirty years. Prior to seminary, he taught middle school for six years, where he also coached football and basketball.
Published by Christian Faith Publishing, Michael Soppeland's new book is the story of a caregiver who has grown weary of doing good, in spite of the teachings of 2 Thessalonians 3:13.
"Throughout the book I tell about being reminded of one primary message of the Bible: keep the faith because God is faithful. As Thomas Merton prayed, "My Lord God, I have no idea where I am going. I do not see the road ahead of me. I cannot know for certain where it will end. Nor do I really know myself, and the fact that I think I am following your will does not mean that I am actually doing so. But I believe that the desire to please you does in fact please you.""
