PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla.

Wanting to inform others of the plights experienced by the Cuban people, author Michael Gonzales crafts a riveting tale packed with daredevil action, magnetic drama and captivating thrills. "Escape from Havana" (published by Xlibris) follows the story of a disillusioned war veteran who returns to America and later finds himself in a new battle to find love.

Readers are introduced to the returning Middle East combat veteran Ace and exotic, intelligent Cuban beauty Reina. Ace's life is turned upside down when he visits a forbidden Caribbean Island - an island taboo to American citizens. A nocturnal serendipitous meeting with Reina sends Ace on an adventure more perilous than the Afghanistan war. The two struggle against culturally different governments at odds as they attempt to unite their lives, minds and hearts.

Action-packed and highly entertaining, "Escape from Havana" will appeal to readers who have a love for adventure and enjoy a good romance. It is a classical tale of love against all odds with a twist that is bound to keep readers absorbed from first page until last.
