Inspired by the literary success of J.K. Rowling's Harry Potter series, author Matthew MacDonnell wrote his debut fiction, in which a college-aged witch battles the forces of Satan, titled "The Satanic Platforms: & the Whore of Babylon" (published by AuthorHouse UK).

Elizabeth Brooks is a witch in training at the University of Anglesey - the best university for witches and wizards. As she moves through her studies, she finds herself fighting off the powers of the devil - powers that threaten the very existence of all witches and wizards in the realm.
