Mary Graham offers wisdom, humor and guidance to young girls struggling to deal with life's challenges in her new holiday book, "Hannah's Christmas Presence" (published by AuthorHouse).

"In my work as a psychotherapist I see young girls who struggle with a disturbing trend toward perfectionism in themselves and their lives," Graham explains. "I wrote this book to help them understand that in their desire for perfection they can lose sight of life's real meaning."

It's Christmas time, and Hannah, a plump, red-haired girl, is on a quest for the perfect life and the perfect dog. Like many young women, she has trouble accepting her appearance, especially her freckles and curly hair, and she doesn't have much fun doing chores or homework. She learns one of life's most valuable lessons one comically disastrous Christmas day.

An excerpt from "Hannah's Christmas Presence":

"Hannah was relentless. She sent her parents cute YouTube videos of talking dogs. She clipped pictures from old dog calendars and drew a cartoon bubble from their mouths saying, 'Please help me I'm lonely' or 'SOS-I'm being held captive by a terrorist cat.' which she left on the dining room table or under the magnets of the refrigerator."
