Margaret Waldinger Morie's poetry collection Whispers defines a state of hushed communion, of faith and its prayerful manifestations. It is what Morie believes, and what readers will realize, as communications of grace directed to her heart from the Holy Father. Meditative, worshipful and filled with wonder at the strengths and virtues of belief in God's steadfast love, Morie first found the inspiration to start writing one night while watching over her sick mother. In balance, Whispers is a volume that many will find useful in times when inspiration and calm is needed from a friendly source.

These heartfelt poems are as symbol-filled, comfortable and familiar as a quilted blanket. Like the best quilts, they will be useful for a lifetime. Whispers will work best in lives that are attuned to Christian values, to a life filled with work and errands that define an ordered existence. It inspires confidence and gratitude for civilized society. In every sense, this collection anchors readers to common sense and workable solutions-the best way to go in a life defined by faith.

"Love," "Faith," "Friendship," "Life," "Holidays," and "Patriotism." They are the keys to a blessed life and deserve to be celebrated. Morie proves this so in a manner that conveys the character and spirituality behind the concepts of each word. They are also the chapters dividing this collection. Like all poetry which seeks to guide readers, it does so by descriptive images and thought. Morie achieves a level of truth and beauty in her poems that will surely put Whispers on many a bedside table.
