Poetry writing is something that is done for the sheer pleasure of putting beautiful words on paper. It is the most artistic and most liberating form of creative writing. That's why poetry writing is so universally appealing. Poets have complete liberty to build something out of nothing simply by stringing words together.

Whip-Poor-Wills and Fireflies written by Margaret Rose Green is a poignant collection of poems divided into four sections. Early Musings speaks of her thoughts about beauty, hope, youth, loneliness, among others and includes two Spanish poems. Sonnets from the Heart is about the joys and pain of love. The Adirondack Seasons Song Cycle consists of poems set to music, and The Later Poems, which includes her most recent works, the final two being dedicated to Green's late parents.

All of these poems are passionately written from the heart. They sincerely reflect on Green's thoughts and experiences which makes them more appealing to readers. She has set several of these poems to music for performance by local church choirs and by the Venice, Fla. choral group, Exsultate!, of which she is a proud founding member.

Whip-Poor-Wills and Fireflies will let readers imagine, feel and experience Green's thoughts about life, love and everything in between, as each of her passionately written poems sincerely reflects the creative writings of a woman whose life and thoughts are shared by many.

This book will be featured at the New York Library Association Book Exhibit in Niagara Falls, N.Y. on September 25 - 28, 2013.

About the Author
Margaret Rose Green was born and raised in rural upstate N.Y., along the Black River in the foothills of the Adirondack Mountains. Her early years growing up on a dairy farm outside of Greig, NY (population then about 350) shaped both her love of nature and her strong Christian faith. She completed her B.A. at Union College in Schenectady, NY in 1972 before migrating south to the west coast of Fla. She met her husband, Richard Green, while she was working as a respiratory therapist and he, as a nurse, in the Sarasota area. They married in 1976. She completed her M.A. degree in education at the University of South Florida in 1986 and began teaching high school Science.

Widowed after 34 years of marriage, Green still lives in southwest Fla. near her two beloved daughters, Heather and Laurel, and continues teaching in the Sarasota County School System. She continues to write poetry and music for performance in her community.
