Forty years ago, it took a book to inform author Marcia W. Posner of what was happening to Jews in Europe. She too, has written a book not only to inform readers of how Holocaust survivors suffered, but also how they built themselves a new life, a place to educate future generations about the Holocaust, and significantly, how everyone can build their own paths to helping each other.
"ZACHOR: NOT ONLY TO REMEMBER" (published by Xlibris) is a historical memoir that describes the inspiration and striving of people who dreamed of and brought to reality the Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center. It is also a compendium of the Holocaust experiences of the survivors and liberators as well as the lessons learned from their tragic experience that no one can afford to be a bystander. The author of the first two chapters is Irving Roth. He describes what the Center and more specifically, what Boris Chartan, Thomas Gulotta, Simon Zareh, Ike Blachor, and he, contributed to the founding and directing of the Center in its first years.

About the Author
In 1995, after concluding her career as the library consultant for the Jewish Book Council and UJA-Federation, Dr. Marcia W. Posner established a library at The Holocaust Memorial and Educational Center of Nassau County. She became a contributor to its growth as well as a witness of its name change to the: Holocaust Memorial and Tolerance Center of Nassau County. She considers it a great honor to write this historical memoir and also to provide a vehicle for its testifiers, liberators and survivors to relate their experiences of World War II and the catastrophe known as the Churban.
