Manuel Huerta, a Mexican native, retired engineer, college professor, devoted writer and author, has completed his new book "The Long Way To Destiny": a gripping work that details the trials and tribulations of the main character's life and the courage he has to overcome.

Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, Manuel Huerta's emotional tale examines the ideas of faith, strength, courage and overcoming.

"The Long Way To Destiny" is based on true events that narrates the childhood and early adulthood of Adi. Born into a family with a nonconventional background, Adi is surrounded by death. He loses his first three older siblings and then his younger brother to whom Adi becomes very attached to. Having a very near death experience himself, it is questionable whether Adi would reach adulthood.

No different from most boys, Adi also had dreams of his future and pictured himself as a famous artist. However, this was not to be his fate. The first obstacle in Adi´s dreams was his very strict military type father. His father had had a very difficult childhood and had found a career and comfortable living in the civil service. Like other parents, Adi´s father wanted the best for his son and the best was to follow in his footsteps in the civil service. Adi, as most sons, would not be a part of his father´s dream for him and in no way pictured himself filling out forms trapped behind a desk day in and day out. Adi´s schemes to convince his father that civil service was not for him failed. It would seem that not even the death of his father would keep him out of civil service.

Adi finally gets the opportunity to pursue his dream only to find out that destiny has a different plan for him. Which poses the reader with a series of questions; does destiny exist and if so, are we bound to our destiny or can we change it? What are the consequences of not following our destiny, if indeed, we do have one? Is everyone born with a purpose in life or just a chosen few?

Readers who wish to experience this telling work can purchase "The Long Way To Destiny" at bookstores everywhere, or online at the Apple iTunes store, Amazon, Google Play or Barnes and Noble.
