"my Odyssey thru Hell" (published by AuthorHouse) tells the story of Horst Stauber, a German World War II soldier, who assumed the alias Hans Gruber. T.J. Riegle assembled Gruber's memoirs and personal interviews to help complete the biography. In it, Gruber chronicles his chaotic childhood, the abuse he suffered as a prisoner of war in a Gulag camp, and the trials and tribulations he faced while immigrating to the United States.

"Gruber suffered from PTSD. For years nightmares would awaken him in the middle of the night. So, as a catharsis to try and relieve his insomnia, he eventually started recording his thoughts on a tape recorder and then later wrote them down," Riegle explains.

Riegle is embarking on a marketing campaign to promote the book. He hopes readers will get a thrill out of reading about Gruber's life, which he says exemplifies the American dream.

"Gruber's life seems the epitome of faith and perseverance and is a triumphant example of free-market capitalism superiority over socialism and communism," Reigle says. "As government continues to encroach on our lives today, Gruber's odyssey provides first-hand knowledge of why we need to preserve our free-enterprise system."
