"When it comes to adventure travel, there's no such thing as a wrong turn."

Taking those words to heart, Albert L. Lamarre's life has been an endless adventure. During his thirteen-year career as a minerals exploration geologist, Lamarre visited and studied many of the world's greatest natural wonders. With his new book, "Mountains, Minerals, and Me: Thirteen Years Revealing Earth's Mysteries," Lamarre takes readers along for the ride as he recounts some of his most thrilling experiences in the field.

"I came across a lot of extraordinary places during my exploration career," Lamarre said. "It was a rewarding journey."

From having his office bombed, to being abandoned in the darkness of an underground mine, to coming face-to-face with a rattlesnake, Lamarre hopes his stories inspire others to grasp the incredible opportunities all around them.

"Life is an ongoing adventure," Lamarre said. "It is to be seized and appreciated."
