CAMDEN, S.C.

In a novel that probes the deep-seated stories reflecting common realities among America's new generation of youth, author Jessie Juan Glenn demonstrates how unrequited love, a family plagued by vice, and pure emotional valor pushes one man to a direction that will test his faith in God and strength of character. "Mi Esposa" (published by Xlibris) is a story about the triumph of love, hate and hope against all qualms of life.

Jamie is a young American who has suffered the turmoil of life at an early age. Being born to a family without a father, Jamie struggled to find scraps of love in petty things, for love is a luxury his own family did not reciprocate. Drug addiction stole the mother he once considered his best friend. Growing up, Jamie saw firsthand what people were capable of. After being compelled to become someone he was not, he learned who he was and lived the life he wanted. Jamie ran from what he became but was forced to return to the person he thought no longer existed to protect the wife who meant everything to him. However, Jamie did not know if his wife truly needed him or was part of the deception that turned him back into the person he thought no longer existed.

The book's take on current social issues including and rampant substance abuse make it a relevant material for those who wish to understand the nature of bravado, violence, and silent remorse that operate among the country. It is the author's hope that this book makes that difference in the lives of those who need hope when hope appears gone. The characters in this novel and their shortcomings stand as a blueprint to not abuse or use drugs or alcohol and to follow the word of God.
