First time author Sharon Longworth examines the readiness of the bride for the second coming of her husband, Jesus Christ. "Menopause and the Latter Day Bride" (published by Xlibris AU) asks the question: 'Is the bride of Christ (the church) suffering with debilitating symptoms of 'spiritual menopause' and lacking intimacy with her heavenly husband?
This book details the author's spiritual journey from 'infancy' to 'intimacy' with God. It also presents a challenge to the bride of Christ (the church made up of individual believers) and her relationship with her heavenly husband, Jesus. As a menopausal woman and her husband lack intimacy in their relationship due to the wife's battle with her flesh, so too Longworth believes the bride of Christ may be lacking intimacy with her heavenly husband.
"I believe that there is not a person on earth who does not have a yearning to know 'who' they are and 'why' they exist," Longworth shares. "The answers to these questions can only be found in God. I believe our very purpose for living is to have an intimate relationship with God, the creator of the universe."
Detailing her own growth and hunger for the word of God, Longworth encourages believers to never stop getting to know their God and Saviour. It is the author's desire to minister and to share the fulfilling word of God through this book that reveals the truths of the ever-relevant Scripture. "Menopause and the Latter Day Bride" is a narrative much as it is a challenge for the church to be steadfast in its commitment to its heavenly husband. Nobody knows when Christ is coming back exactly, so be ready.
