MASTERING MATH FACTS is Released

Laura's Candler's newest book Mastering Math Facts: Multiplication and Division Aligned with the Common Core tackles one of the biggest challenges in mathematics education today - poor computational fluency. When students don't really understand math concepts or know their times tables, they struggle in math, which leads to difficulty in other subjects and can limit their opportunities later in life.

This new 208-page print and digital book provides everything needed for busy teachers to be successful teaching both multiplication concepts and facts. It is also fully aligned with the CCSS framework.

"When I originally created this program," says Laura, "it was to increase computational speed and fluency. However, the math fact mastery problem is far more complex than it appears. It was only through publishing my first program and hearing feedback from teachers that I was able to identify and work through all of the issues."

Chapter 1 now provides a method to assess students' understanding of essential multiplication concepts. Differentiation is critical in math, and this assessment makes it easy for teachers to know which concepts to focus on with each individual and the class as a whole. This chapter also includes step-by-step lessons for introducing multiplication and division concepts.

Once students have a firm grasp of the concepts, teachers can move directly into the motivational system, which is now also broken down into easy step-by-step lessons. The new system includes a choice of two motivational programs, the original and an innovative alternative. Either system takes just 15 minutes a day to implement.
