The Second World War brought with it international cataclysm. For Lydia Ott, the global conflict changed not only the world around her but the path of her personal life. In her compelling autobiography, she looks back to the journey that took her From Polders To Skyscrapers.

About the Author
Lydia Ott was born in Eindhoven, the Netherlands and was raised with four siblings. She graduated from high school and an international secretarial institute emphasizing proficiency in English, French and German languages. She has worked as a fabric coordinator for a major fiber company. She married her husband John Ott, a civil engineer, and combined her work and travel time until her husband was diagnosed with terminal cancer. He passed away in 1980 and Ott retired from the company.

Ott lived in Van Alstyne, Texas, for twenty-two years before relocating to Austin, Texas, in 2005. After five years she moved to Florida where her daughter and her family resided. Together, they found an ideal retirement community in Palm Beach Gardens where Ott presently lives.
