For many Americans the dream is to work in a choice career for many years and then retire. That said, many also fear retirement, as it is often viewed as a signifier of the end. Lou Kaufmann, author of "Don't Retire - Renew: Living Life to Its Fullest In Renewalment" (published by Trafford Publishing), feels differently.

"Don't Retire-Renew" takes retirement out of the equation and replaces it with "renewalment," a term coined by Kaufmann and his wife. The idea came to them when Kaufmann's wife came home on her last day of work absolutely devastated at the idea of retiring. They decided it was time for the word itself to go and came up with the concept of renewing one's life, rather than retiring and remaining stagnant until death.

In this new book, Kaufmann aims to not only provide those of retirement age with tips on how to better live the rest of their lives, but also instill a sense of adventure in people of all ages. He hopes it will help readers, "...take stock of their current situation and begin to set goals and develop a plan or plans to achieve that goal."
