Lone Female Survivor of 1959 Plane Crash Shares Story from the Air Image Joan Zeller wasn't expecting this last-minute assignment, a flight from La Guardia Airport to Chicago Midway with a layover in the Windy City. She also wasn't supposed to work the return flight that same day. Nevertheless, she found herself on American Airlines, Flight 320 headed back to New York.

The plane wasn't supposed to crash. Yet, on February 3, 1959, Flight 320 collapsed into the East River, killing 65 passengers and crew members. Zeller was the sole female survivor and now provides a firsthand account of that devastating event in "Angel on the Wing: Flight 320…Come In!"

With raw details, "Angel on the Wing" recounts the traumatic crash that occurred during the approach to La Guardia Airport. Zeller sheds light on the events leading up that unfortunate day, and also provides insight on the disaster from a passenger/flight attendant perspective.

"I wrote Angel on the Wings to give family members of those that perished some answers," Zeller said. "My account of that flight and my interactions with those aboard can hopefully provide some comfort to those readers who want to know what those final moments were like."
