Strategic Book Publishing and Rights Agency (SBPRA) is pleased to announce that three of its authors were honored by the London Book Festival, an annual competition honoring the best in international publishing.

"Fifty-Fifty: The Clarity of Hindsight" by Julie L. Kessler was the winning book in the Wild Card category. The book offers a warm, moving and at times, tearfully funny account of how Kessler grew up as the child of a single mother in Hawaii, acquired a love for travel at a very early age, and struck out on her own after her mother's death when Julie was 21, largely alone in the world.

"I was delighted to learn that Fifty-Fifty won the Wild Card category at the 2013 London Book Festival," said Kessler. "There was a lot of high quality competition and I'm very honored to receive this prestigious award. Being able to attend the awards gala at the famed British Library will, no doubt, be a wonderful experience and a great way to kick off 2014."

Author Sherrill S. Cannon was awarded Honorable Mention in the Children's Book category for her fifth rhyming children's book, "Manner-Man." The book is about a dynamic superhero who helps children learn manners, how to cope with bullies and how to look within themselves to find their own superhero.

First-time author Liam Moiser also earned an Honorable Mention award in the Children's Book category for "Moore Field School and the Mystery," the start of an exciting series about two young girls and a haunted house in England.

"We're thrilled to see these wonderful authors recognized for their work," said Rob Fletcher, CEO of SBPRA. "As an independent book publisher, it's exciting to help award-winning authors reach entirely new audiences around the world."

The 2013 London Book Festival considered books in multiple languages that were published, self-published or issued by an independent publishing house after January 2, 2010. Categories included non-fiction, fiction, biography/autobiography, cookbooks, young adult and wild card, among others.

Winners will be honored at a gala ceremony held at the British Library in London on January 23, 2014.
