Local Artisan Publisher to Release Second Book Image Riverside Secondary graduates Tiffany John and Amanda Tipper are gearing up to release the second novel from their Science Fiction publishing imprint, Mecha Panda Publishing.

The two entrepreneurs released their first publication in February 2018 – the second edition of T.J. Lockwood's Violent Skies. Building on the experiences that comes from a first release such as setting up accounts with distributors and vendors, building community connections and connecting with readers, the duo is feeling confident in their ability to grow as publishers.

"I think it's an exciting time to be publishing books as a small, artisan publisher. The industry landscape is changing and readers are open to taking a chance on books that come from someone other than the Big Five," shares Amanda. "We've received some great support from local bookstores like Western Sky Book and Indigo and are slowly establishing ourselves as a publisher to pay attention to."

Urban Heroes by T.J. Lockwood will be released on June 14, 2018. Join the Mecha Panda team for a reading and discussion with T.J. Lockwood at Western Sky Books (2132 – 2850 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam), 7-9pm. Books will be available for sale and admission is free.
