Living Above and Beyond the Hippocratic Oath Image The need for medical care is inevitable for everyone at least once in their lifetimes. However, a patient's expectations of their physician and/or healthcare provider can be unclear or misunderstood. To help bridge this gap, "The Making of the Ideal Physician" is a guidebook for physicians and patients alike to help improve the quality of individual healthcare.

Edward C. Rosenow III, MD; J. Keith Mansel, MD; and Walter R. Wilson, MD, have more than 100 years of combined experience in medicine and medical education. They are sharing that expertise with members of the medical community to help them better navigate the patient interaction and offer them practical guidance as they progress in their careers. The authors strongly support the Platinum Rule of Medicine, which is to take care of each patient as if he or she is a family member.

"We wrote this book to help reverse the loss of trust the public has in their healthcare providers," said Dr. Rosenow. "The truth is that all patients deserve the best possible care."

"'The Making of the Ideal Physician' is a timely, deeply informed, invaluable reference for physicians at every stage of their careers," stated a Foreword Clarion Review.

From the beginning of the book to the end, the focus is always on patients and remembering that every doctor should help their patients in the most professional manner possible-and always with empathy.
