Author Linda Zito's children were her inspiration for writing "WHY CAN'T I BE LIKE HER?" (published by Xlibris AU). Her initial purpose was to give them a straightforward, easy-to-read story to encourage positive thinking and self-belief within them. It was after the great response from Zito's children that she felt the need to share this story to other kids.

An endearing picture book, "WHY CAN'T I BE LIKE HER?" tells the story of two interesting characters, Whygirl and Flywise. Whygirl has a lot of self-esteem questions and Flywise cheers her up and gives her lessons on confidence.

Zito presents Whygirl as the symbol of an everyday average girl's wants and desires. She is an example of how positive thinking can turn inferior thoughts into happy ones. In today's society where there is so much social pressure on children, especially on the way they look or act, "WHY CAN'T I BE LIKE HER?" guides them to the path being who they want to be by finding their inner happiness and developing their self-esteem.

"WHY CAN'T I BE LIKE HER?" will appeal to parents, teachers or anybody who wants to encourage children to be inspired to live a more positive way of life. Children will find the book captivating with its vivid illustrations and as they read the story, they will feel inspired to think positively about themselves and the things around them.
