"Marriage in Motion," Liberty University Press' newest book release, offers marriage advice from a counselor who believes that biblical principles can help solve the day-to-day marriage issues couples often face.
Statistics indicate that in today's society, there is somewhere between a 33 and 50 percent divorce rate in the United States. John Hobbs, a Christian marriage counselor based out of Newnan, Ga., wrote "Marriage in Motion" because he believes couples can conquer their marriage struggles and stay committed to one another.
"Each person enters into marriage with unbelievable and unrealistic expectations that seem completely feasible in his/her own eyes," Hobbs said. "Neither of them may have had any training in anger management, communication skills, or conflict resolution, and most have no experience or understanding when it comes to financial matters. To make it worse, probably in most cases neither of them had very good role models growing up. They may have a limited support system to turn to if things deteriorate."
In his book "Marriage in Motion," Hobbs composed strategies to assist couples in strengthening their marriage and educating them how to live out a Christ-centered and biblically based marriage. These strategies are based on his belief that marriages change constantly and individuals need to learn how to adapt to meet those changes. Hobbs specifically concentrated on a few different aspects of marriage in his book, such as commitment, conflict, confession, and closeness, and provided examples and answers to many questions couples may have.
"Marriage in Motion" is now available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble.
