Lee-Anne Fairbairn Releases OH DEER! CHRISTMAS MAGIC

Three years after Haiti's devastating earthquake, an estimated 357,785 Haitians still live in tent camps; many of those displaced are children. Lee-Anne Fairbairn, a passionate advocate for children, is using the gift of storytelling to help change this.

In her new illustrated children's book, "Oh, Deer! Christmas Magic: If you believe dreams really do come true" (published by Balboa Press), Fairbairn weaves a powerful story of wonder, healing and friendship. The illustrations are based on unique photos of her family on their farm in western, Victoria. Young readers adore the real-life approach and can easily relate to the story.

"Oh, Deer! Christmas Magic" is about the true meaning of Christmas as seen through a child's eyes. It demonstrates, Fairbairn says, that with "unconditional love, compassion and living from the heart our dreams can come true, together with a little bit of down under magic."

The story centers on a young Australian boy, Ruben, who wishes for a new best friend for Christmas. When he meets Rudolph, who is on holiday, the real Christmas magic is revealed in true childlike wonder, sprinkling magic from a four-wheel-drive motor bike along the way.

Additionally, notes Fairbairn, this book supports family bonding and one shouldn't be fooled into thinking that her book is only for yuletide cheer. The genre-busting book presents an engaging story that is applicable all year-round.

"Oh, Deer! Christmas Magic" is a new book in Fairbairn's Our Little Footsteps series, which empowers children and their families to live a fuller life. Twenty percent of the proceeds of the book will go to support the building of a new school for the children of La Gonave, Haiti. Five percent of the proceeds of the book will go to support the Sandy Hook school community in Newtown, Conn.
