Las Vegas Author Bonnie Bulla Releases Battling the Demon of Sloth Image Next Century Publishing's new release, Battling the Demon of Sloth, from Las Vegas author Bonnie Bulla, is a fresh take on an ancient premise that offers encouragement, hope and a positive way forward for young people in a world filled with uncertainty, fear and intimidation.

The young protagonist Jimmy Ryan faces many challenges that teens experience in their own lives. Battling the Demon of Sloth is the first in a series of Christian fantasy novels for young people aimed at inspiring them to confront and overcome their demons.

"I felt called to write this book," said author Bonnie Bulla. "At a time when our youth are facing unprecedented challenges, I wanted to offer something positive. The explosive battle of good versus evil plays out in high school senior Jimmy Ryan's life, forcing him to find the strength to fight for what he knows is right."

Jimmy is a former star high school quarterback for New Southwest Boulder High School in Boulder City, Nevada, who is struggling through his senior year. Having been diagnosed with cancer and undergone a below knee amputation, his future looks bleak. He is rejected by his friends, and his dream of playing professional football has been shattered.

When Jimmy meets Olive Smyth and her family, everything he thought he knew and believed is challenged. With Olive by his side, Jimmy summons the courage to overcome his fears and go on with his life. But his relationship with the Smyth family isn't without risk. They are in Boulder City for a reason-to do battle with the Demon of Sloth and protect the people of the town.

"Batting the Demon of Sloth is a story that tackles difficult subjects such as spiritual apathy, depression, loss and maintaining faith through obstacles," said Bonnie. "This book teaches young readers about the love God has for His people, and through Him all things are possible."

Born and raised in Arizona, Bonnie attended Arizona State University where she received both her undergraduate and law degrees. Bonnie has called Las Vegas home since 1987, and currently serves as the Discovery Hearing Master for the Eighth Judicial District Court, in Clark County, Nevada.

Battling the Demon of Sloth is available on Amazon and at GoRead.com.
