Author Lane Franks loved telling his son, Landon, bedtime stories that taught Christian lessons every night before turning off the lights. In Franks' new children's book, "The Adventures and Life Lessons of Wolfy" (published by Trafford Publishing), co-authored by Landon, Franks shares that enjoyment with parents and young readers through a story of family, love and respect.
Wolfy is a curious little wolf pup who lives deep in the forests of the Alaskan wilderness with Savage and Gentle, his father and mother. The family is deeply devoted to God, and every morning Wolfy says his prayers and reads a page from the Bible.
While playing outside with his friends one day, Wolfy jumps in front of a snake in order to save his rabbit friend, Hoppy. Savage and Gentle, along with Pastor Love, pray for Wolfy's recovery, but only time will tell if Wolfy will wake up.
Franks compares Wolfy's sacrifice to Jesus Christ's death in an engaging way that children will be able to understand. He includes a children's prayer at the beginning of the story and ends with a lesson about family and love.
"This book gives moms and dads a little tool to use in the teaching of how important family is and how important it is to remember God and His guiding principles," says Franks. "Most importantly, it helps little children understand the timeless gospel of Jesus Christ in a way they can easily understand."
