La Vellea Samot Pens New Memoir, A TIME TO REMEMBER

Author La Vellea Samot makes her literary debut by telling the story of a young girl raised in a poverty stricken and turbulent home. She knows this story better than anyone, because she lived it. Samot's life was rife with difficulties from the beginning. With family members she describes as evil and an educational system "hell-bent on holding up" her progress, she had little in the way of a support system. While this had her near-defeated at one point, it also taught her a lesson no school could: to never give up.
