L.L. McAllister, a veteran, military historian, artist, father, writer and author, has completed his new book "Jonah's Box: 666 The Talisman Seed: Book I": an intriguing and enigmatic work that tells a story of fear, life and determination.
"Larry's expertise as a scrimshaw artist is matched only by his excellence in storytelling," said Bill Schick, American Cue Makers Association Hall of Fame.
Published by New York City-based Page Publishing, L.L. McAllister's thrilling tale will leave the reader sitting on the edge of their seat, guessing what will happen next.
In a cave in the New Mexico desert, a lone warrior translator finds pages of the past secreted away in a thing called Jonah's Box. They speak of the Talisman seed; children hunters searching the centuries for an evil called Them. The documents point fingers at Templar treachery, Viking thievery, and the lie of 1947.
Uppermost is a man called Aaron, who studies religious secrets, and is tossed from a cliff by the evil he hunts. He is joined by Professor Higgins, an anthropologist, who meets with a bullet from the hands of the Black Priest and left for the wolves to consume. And Clovis, a copious journalist, secret agent, that faces off with the green slime of the demonic Them, in the thick woods of Aaron's mountain retreat.
Then, there is the aged bunch called the Covenant Group, an outdated military organization, protecting the Covenant Town that is hidden away from prying eyes; filled with Holocaust victims that seek the truth in religious mythology. That truth, the box, and the Talisman seed, are hunted by the unholy trinity: a secret pastor, a buyer of politicians, and a shipping magnate, all awaiting a special offspring to be born.
They are joined by the Black Priest, a Roman Centurion, hoping to regain salvation; a man called the Master, a graying old servant of Hell; and a female beast that hides in the bodies of the willing and unbelieving, doing the bidding of Satan himself. And, finally, there is Old Bill and Ruth; two questions all by themselves.
