What will it take for a grieving, broken heart to mend? Dorothea Sawatzky answers this question in a poignant story that portrays how the hands of fate can devastate a person and how one manages to gradually pick up the pieces to restore the self and be back up again in her debut novel titled Lily Of The Valley.

On Claire's sixteenth birthday she is pulled from class and finds out devastating news that her adoptive parents died in a car accident. Shortly after the incident she leaves her city home in Switzerland and moves to the out skirts of California to live with her birth father and his wife. She left Switzerland without giving her friends an explanation for her departure. Claire is heartbroken and wants to start fresh so she changes her identity.

She encounters with many difficult situations and is falling apart until she meets the neighbor's son, who has returned home from the navy. Everything was perfect as they helped heal each other's wounds until Daniels parents held Daniel to her mistake.

Will Claire once again succumb to the pain of losing somebody she loves? Readers can follow this gripping story that highlights resilience, courage and love in Lily Of The Valley.
