CHRISTCHURCH, NEW ZEALAND
In "Light Revolutions" (published by Xlibris NZ), author Geoffrey Ernest Stedman gives a varied read in theoretical and experimental science, that explores the many concepts in one's understanding of light travel and how these new discoveries are able to benefit humanity, this project has enhanced a full study of the rotational motions that accompanying earthquakes. This work gives readers a measure of understanding and respect for the achievements and precision of modern scientific research in New Zealand.
This ingenious book is the history of a scientific project in New Zealand. The author's team construction of a family of ring laser devices are described as the largest in the world which has advanced the topic of rotation sensing. Some background chapters explain the history of the understanding of light travel. These are included for completeness and to explain the motivation of this project. The word 'Revolutions' links both to the changing in one's understanding of light through the centuries and to the counter-rotating beams of light in a ring laser.
