The perils of the heart arise in the romantic journey of two young lovers, as circumstances force them to choose "Life over Love" (published by Xlibris). Author Kary Hisashima's new young adult romance novel portrays the passions and dramas that bloom after a boy and a girl's fateful meeting in a college campus, unforeseeable events that send them on an emotional odyssey where their idealistic hopes must contend with the realities forced upon them as they grow up.

They start off as bright-eyed freshmen and, at first, things go surprisingly well. Love seems to be quite easy, until they find out that it is anything but. Unforeseen events take place that force them apart, testing whether their love for each other is strong enough to survive, tempting them to succumb to the pressures they encounter. As passion and sincerity faces the supposed maturity of cynicism, readers will see if the two young lovers will choose life over love.

"Sometimes we find love; sometimes love finds us," Hisashima says. "No matter what way, shape, or form love appears before us, it marks a beginning toward a hopefully happy end."

Hisashima shows readers what happens when life gets in the way, when the winds of fate threaten to blow out the fire of passion and what a couple must resort to when keeping that flame alight seems difficult and even impossible.
