LAUGHTER ON MY PATH is Released

Author Ann Lowrance Allman never imagined her career would take her to the places it did. She once worked in Argentina, traveled through other countries and experienced many adventures. Now, Allman takes a retrospective look at the moments that shaped her life in her new memoir, "Laughter on My Path: An Educator's Funny and Compelling Encounters with People, Problems, and Pets" (published by WestBow Press).

Allman shares her story of growing up the daughter of a medical school professor. She provides humorous anecdotes of human brains on the kitchen table, being introduced to cadavers and learning about puberty through "Gray's Anatomy." As an adult, she marries the wrong man who subsequently becomes her brother-in-law and thus her sons' "Uncle Dad." Formerly Ann Hamilton, when she becomes Joplin Senior High School's dean of girls, she meets Joplin's entertaining school superintendent, who would become her husband 10 years later.

About the Author
Ann Lowrance Allman taught Spanish, psychology and sociology in three Missouri high schools. She served as dean of girls at Joplin Senior High School and Parkwood High School, assistant to the dean of students and instructor in education at Columbia College, and dean of girls and assistant principal at Neosho High School. She was director of guidance at the American Community School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and was a counselor plus academic and career advisor at Missouri Southern State College for 15 years before retiring. She currently lives in Neosho, Missouri, with her retired husband, Jack Allman.
