TUPELO, Miss.
TUPELO, Miss. - Kristy L. Brewer marks her debut in the world of literature with "Awake at Dusk" (published by Xlibris). This first novel follows a woman's relentless search for meaning and purpose in her life. Brewer crafts, out of her heroine's experiences, a riveting, universal story of the human condition.
"Awake at Dusk" introduces Heather whose life is irrevocably changed by a tragic accident. The young woman's struggle to regain control of her life is complicated by recurring dreams whose meaning she must unlock if she wants to live a life of peace and happiness.
"Awake at Dusk" is based on many personal dreams that Brewer had. The first-time author started having these dreams as she was growing up in Flint, Mich. She kept a journal to record her dreams, often wondering what they meant. It was not until years later that she finally understood the meaning of her dreams.
"It was then that I decided to write a novel centered on my recurring dreams," Brewer says. "Through the life of a fictional character I guide the reader to my true revelation."
