Scientists penetrate the awe-inspiring majesties and mysteries of reality more deeply than the rest of their contemporaries - and this reality is, Christians believe, the product of God's creative power. Author Klaus Nürnberger presents an argument that it is essential for science and faith to come together again and lead humanity out of the approaching crisis with his new publication, Informed by Science, Involved by Christ.

In earlier times, science and faith dovetailed as two dimensions of a common culture, while the modern economy has unleashed a wave of selfishness and indulgence across the world population that has become dangerous for human survival. Science and technology have provided humans with unheard powers without generating a concomitant sense of responsibility. At the same time, faith has indulged in a private spirituality without concern for the 'evil world' out there. Believers dare not break out of their spiritual preoccupations and pre-scientific world views. Scientists do not dare to be associated with a faith that has lost its plausibility and respectability in terms of modern insights.

If science and faith will work together, they can become God's instruments to master the looming economic-ecological crises. Science can help believers update their worldview, restore the credibility of their message, and regain their contemporary relevance, while faith can afford the scientific enterprise a new grounding, direction and vision. Nürnberger encourages Christians to take modern science onboard as it can update, enrich and empower their faith.

Informed by Science, Involved by Christ is a truly enlightening book that opens the minds of the Christians and provokes them to strengthen their commitment to their faith through embracing the teaching of science and incorporating it with their Christian belief.
