Ken Wheat Pens New Book of Wheat Genealogy

This fascinating story explores the evolution of the Wheats from peasants in 14th-century England to merchants, lawyers, landowners, baronets and other professionals, as well as to agricultural laborers and industrial workers, through to the end of the 19th century.

Ken Wheat was born in Coventry, England in 1942 and was educated at local schools before leaving for university. He was awarded an honors degree in economics at Durham University in 1964. He went into management in the automotive components industry in Birmingham and retired in 1997. He began genealogical research soon after, focusing, firstly, on his own family and then on the wider Wheat family in England. This book is the result of 15 years of painstaking work.
