With the publication of his new book "The English Wheats: The Evolution of Wheat Families in England from the 14th century to the end of the 19th century" (published by AuthorHouse), author and genealogist Ken Wheat has created perhaps the most comprehensive book ever written about the English Wheat families.

This fascinating story explores the evolution of the Wheats from peasants in 14th-century England to merchants, lawyers, landowners, baronets and other professionals, as well as to agricultural laborers and industrial workers, through to the end of the 19th century.

An excerpt from "The English Wheats":

"William Wheate married Anne Quiney in 1592, she a member of one of the most influential families in Stratford upon Avon. They would have attended the Quineys' social gatherings and met their closest friends. Among them would have been the Shakespeares. As fate would have it, Anne and William became related to the Shakespeares through marriage when, in 1616, Anne's nephew Thomas Quiney married William Shakespeare's daughter Judith."

"The worldwide Wheat family is larger than most would have believed and is full of interesting individuals," Wheat explains. "I want readers to discover that, as they trace back through their English roots, they may recognize characteristics and interests in their Wheat ancestors that are in their own make-up today."
