In her new book, "The Grumpy Monkey Who Only Eats Bananas" (published by Trafford Publishing), Katia Rabelo-Beacroft pens a children's story filled with adventure and surprises featuring animals found in the Amazon rainforests.

Like many parents, Rabelo-Beacroft was often asked by her daughter to make up stories with real tangible creatures. Her daughter asked for stories emanating from her homeland of Brazil. One night, after telling the story of "the grumpy monkey and the princess," her daughter asked her to write down the story so she could share it with her friends. It was this that became the inspiration for her new book.

Rabelo-Beacroft's book tells the story of the Grumpy Monkey and the kind, adventurous and brave Princess. Through their journey, young readers will learn of the vast wildlife located in the tropics.

An excerpt from "The Grumpy Monkey Who Only Eats Bananas":

"Once upon a time in the Amazon Jungle lived a very grumpy old monkey who only liked to eat bananas. He used to walk in the jungle scaring all the other smaller animals. One day he saw a lovely princess exploring the jungle and taking photos of everything she could see. The grumpy monkey was very grumpy and very noisy, but that didn't bother the little princess...."

"The Grumpy Monkey Who Only Eats Bananas" is charmingly illustrated by artist Donnie Obina, sure to not only entertain, but also educate young readers. In addition, it has been recognized by Trafford with the Gold Seal of Literary Excellence.
