In the midst of turmoil, author Katherine Paulette finds the art and expression of poetry cathartic in channeling her thoughts and emotions, enabling her to share and hold forever the memories of loved ones who are now gone. In her new book titled Memories and Dreams, she offers a poignant anthology of poems teeming with pearls of wisdom and insights certain to tug at readers' heartstrings from one piece to the next.
With a natural faculty to craft lulling lines and verses, Paulette takes pride in the fact that the thread that holds her compositions together is her faith and relationship with God. Her poems range from articulations and expressions of faith to love of family and her childrenespecially her daughter who was killed by a drunk driver in 2008 and her husband who died suddenly and unexpectedly in 2012.
This collection will welcome readers with transfixing truth and sincerity, conveying profound implications of life and death and love and loss. With echoing themes of hope and healing, those who are down in the dumps and those ensnared in their personal battles will realize that life has to move on knowing they are not on their own in facing the seemingly relentless storms of life. Above all, one will devote oneself entirely to the lessons emanating from each piece that soothingly remind that God is present through and through.
