In the age of the internet, cases of child exploitation and victimization are becoming more widely known to the public. "The Least of These" is a fictional novel by K.E. Wass that depicts the ripple effects of pedophilia and child pornography.
The book tells a story about a wife and mother who uncovers disturbing behavior from her husband, destroying what seemed like a peaceful life and leaving her determined to protect her children from physical and psychological harm.
In a review, the BookLife Prize in Fiction stated, "The voice and premise of the novel are established in the first few pages, engaging the reader with the protagonist, Rachel, as she recounts a dream that sets the pace, adds terrific foreshadowing, and creates the tension needed to move the reader to the end."
Although "The Least of These" discusses troublesome topics, it is a book written to inform the public and encourage society to take action. The book also shows the perspective of law enforcement as they track down and arrest perpetrators of crimes against children.
"Readers will learn about how pedophiles hide their truth nature from others," said Wass. "However, hiding in plain sight can only last for so long until the truth is uncovered by the family members of perpetrators and the authorities tasked with stopping them."
